Ingersoll Rand Nitrogen Generators
Nitrogen Generators
employ advanced membrane technology for flawless performance,
day in and day out.
Nitrogen Generators are comprised of a
bundle of hollow-fiber membranes that separate nitrogen from the
air. When the compressed air passes through the fibers, oxygen
and other trace gases permeate the membrane, due to their
smaller molecular size and higher molecular bond strength.
Nitrogen, which doesnt permeate the membrane, flows through the
outlet port to the application.
A
Better Way to Inflate Your Tires
Nitrogen in tires is becoming a popular replacement for standard
air. Nitrogen is all around us... the air we breath is 78%
nitrogen, 21% oxygen and the rest is small amounts of other
gasses. When it comes to tire inflation, nitrogen has many
advantages over oxygen. With nitrogen tire inflation,
improvements can be noted in a vehicle's handling, fuel
efficiency and tire life through better tire pressure retention,
improved fuel economy and cooler running tire temperatures. Here
at the Get Nitrogen Institute our goal is to provide consumers,
over-the-road truckers, fleet managers and others information
about the benefits of using nitrogen in tires.

Benefits of Nitrogen
-
Better Tire
Pressure Retention: nitrogen migrates through a tire 3 to 4
times slower than air. It may take 6 months to lose 2 psi
with ntr
-
Improved Fuel
Economy: Maintaining the proper tire pressure reduces
the rolling resistance, boosting potential fuel economy.
-
Extended Thread
Life:
Tires inflated with nitrogen retain the optimum designed
profile and run cooler than tires inflated with compressed
air.
-
Elimination of
Oxidation:
Oxygen in air is
highly reactive at high pressures and temperatures.
Replacing air with dry nitrogen helps eliminate oxidation
that damages inner lines and belt packages.
-
Reducing Road Hazard Issues Due to Tire Failures:
Without the
oxidation and excessive heat, tire failures can be
significantly reduced.
Ingersoll Rand Air Compressors
For over 65 years,
Ingersoll Rand has been the world leader in air compressors and
air system accessories. We understand the needs and requirements
for air systems and the business demands that are faced every
day. Increasing energy costs and reduced margins require
increased reliability and efficiency from not only your air
compressor, but your entire air system.
Simply stated, your air system is much more than an air
compressor. It's the complete system - the piping, filters,
dryers, drains, hoses, valves and point-of-use tools.
